Chevrolet Corvette Marks Its Seventieth Birthday

In 2023, the Corvette—the brand that has been used on cars for the longest—will be 70 years old. Corvette has remained an accessible cultural symbol for eight generations while pushing the boundaries of performance, technology, and flair.

To commemorate this milestone, a special 70th Anniversary Edition package will be available for the Corvette Stingray and Corvette Z06 vehicles in the 2023 model year.

Vice President of Chevrolet Marketing Steve Majoros claims that Chevrolet adores the Corvette. The excitement and sales success we’ve seen with the eighth generation of America’s iconic sports vehicle make this anniversary extra special. After 70 years, Corvettes continue to inspire children with visions of wide-open roads.

The 70th Anniversary Edition Corvettes include unique wheels with commemorative wheel center caps. The Z06 and Stingray have the same black finish and Edge Red stripe on their wheels, despite their differences.

Inside the cockpit, drivers will discover suede microfiber steering wheel, red seatbelts, and two-tone Ceramic leather GT2 or Competition Sport seats.

Corvette is Assisting Families in the Military

Chevrolet has expanded since its establishment in 1911 in Detroit. It has emerged as one of the leading manufacturers globally, with sales of more than 3.2 million cars and trucks anticipated by 2020. Chevrolet offers a range of models that are inexpensive and include heart-pounding design, electrified and fuel-efficient automobiles with thrilling performance, passive and active safety features, and easy-to-use technology.

The first-ever mid-engine Corvette to be built for retail distribution will be the 70th Anniversary Edition Corvette Z06. VIN 001 of this highly anticipated special edition Corvette Z06 will go up for auction at Barrett-Jackson Scottsdale on Saturday, January 29, 2022. All proceeds will go to Operation Homefront, a national nonprofit organization whose mission is to enable military families to prosper rather than barely make ends meet in the communities they have dedicated their lives to protecting.

Since 2017, Chevrolet has proudly supported Operation Homefront. The group’s six regional offices and headquarters have received seven full-size Silverado vehicles plus funding for services from Chevrolet.

Legendary former Corvette Racing driver Oliver Gavin will drive the replacement 2023 Corvette Z06 across the auction block in a unique performance.
