The N Performance lineup is essentially lacking just two items: a sporty SUV and a coupe.
The future seems promising for reasonably priced sports cars, with Nissan hoping to bring back the Silvia/200SX, Honda bringing back the Prelude, and Toyota reportedly developing a new generation of Celica and MR2 combo.
Australia still has a strong taste for coupes, as seen by the success of the Nissan Z, Toyota Supra, and Ford Mustang, as well as the Subaru BRZ/Toyota 86 twins, which may make room for another competitor.
Following in the footsteps of the previous Hyundai Coupe, the Hyundai Tiburon gained popularity in the 2000s as a highly capable and reasonably priced little coupe with respectable sports car handling thanks to its powerful engine, compact dimensions, and light weight.
Render Hyundai Tiburon
The 2.7-liter V6 is remembered with nostalgia by its enthusiasts and former owners as the best of the lot, particularly when combined with a manual gearbox.
Even if Hyundai has no plans to publicly announce the debut of a N Performance coupe, the Tiburon brand is once again in the spotlight thanks to the publication of these unauthorized renderings by Camshaft.
Dubbed the 2025 Hyundai Tiburon N, the renderings seem to base both variants on a Subaru BRZ (notice the different body lines and wheel designs), covered with a slew of panels and features inspired by the Tucson.
Both designs, finished in performance blue and equipped with a suitably sporty interior, are handsome and would not be too difficult to develop given that Hyundai could use the platform and mechanicals of the current i30 Sedan N. After all, the previous Veloster Turbo was just an i30 N-Line dressed up in a tracksuit.
